The Highlands

Welcome to your hideaway in the Sierra Nevada. Lake Tahoe's First Ski-In / Ski-Out Community is Planned for The Highlands. A New Collection of On-Mountain Condos, Townhomes and The Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe.
To date, only a handful of five-star resort destinations worldwide have embraced the "ski-in/ski-out" concept. Now, North Lake Tahoe will join that rarified and crystal clear air, as East West Partners and its partner Crescent Real Estate Equities (NYSE: CEI) bring to life The Highlands, a new mountainside collection of 1,450 ski-in/ski-out residences, boasting breathtaking views and an ever-growing list of amenities at Northstar-at-Tahoe" ski resort.

The Highlands community will be integrated with Lake Tahoe's first five-star luxury hotel, a 172-room destination resort, The Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe, is slated to begin construction in summer 2006 with a projected opening in late 2009. It will include 75 Ritz-Carlton (full-ownership) Residences as well as The Ritz-Carlton Club offering 77 residences for deeded fractional ownership. Also included at this destination resort will be a world-class spa, several pools, restaurants, lounges and shops, and 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space all connected just steps away by a gondola to the new Village at Northstar" shops, restaurants and ice rink.

When completed, The Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe will be one of a few hotels in the world to be located at the mid-mountain area of a ski resort and to be connected to a world class alpine village by a gondola ride. The ski-in/ski-out concept will allow residents and vacationers to "park their cars and forget about them" once they arrive at The Highlands, better preserving the natural environment and maximizing freedom to enjoy the mountain's skiing and snowboarding activities, including its extensive cross-country and snow shoeing trail network that guests can also use for hiking and biking in the warmer months.
